The Lonesome Archer

“If you love something let it go.
If it comes back to you it’s yours.
If it doesn’t, it never was.”

See the Lonesome Archer,
Far off in the distance
Searching for lost arrows,
The ones that have gone astray.

The arrows are lost, but never forgotten
 Though shot with some skill,
It can arguably be said that
 The archer needs more practice
 Clout shooting the sky.
 And he needs more arrows,
Or stop losing them in the first place.

See the Lonesome Archer,
Head bowed down as he walks
Searching in the turf
For the arrows hid there.

The arrows are lost, but never forgotten
 Though shot with some skill,
It can arguably be said that
 The archer needs more practice
 Shooting at the targets.
 And he needs more arrows,
Or stop losing them in the first place.

Now the Lonesome Archer,
Crawling along the grass
Feeling for lost arrows,
Maybe he’s found one at last?

The arrows are lost, but never forgotten
 Though shot with some skill,
It can arguably be said that
 The archer needs more practice
 Shooting at the ground.
 And he needs more arrows,
Or stop losing them in the first place.
